Clinic and laboratory registrationTurning a scan into a production-ready design requires CAD software and experience. Outsourcing the design makes particular sense in these cases:
- Clinics without CAD software or a licence. You upload the scan, order the design and review the result in 3D.
- Laboratories whose design capacity is full. You open the overflow design work as orders and keep your own team for priority jobs.
- Clinics that track jobs by email and phone. The current version of the file, who has the job and how many revisions it has gone through are kept in the order’s own history, not in email.

Open your account
Create your account through clinic and laboratory registration and verify your email address.
Define the order
Select the indication, material, jaw and tooth numbers. You set the deadline.
Upload your scan
Add the files exported by your intraoral scanner to the order, together with any photos and documents.
Choose the designer
Designers bid on the job and you choose one. If you do not choose, the job is assigned by the system.
The expert reviews
An independent expert reviews the design before it is presented to you.
The decision is yours
You review the design by rotating it in 3D; you approve it or request a revision by placing marks on it.

Remote dental design: who prepares the job?
The design is prepared by dental designers who work with CAD software. On the card of a designer who bids, you can see the programs they state they use. DentMesher does not sell software or licences.
Designer accounts can take on jobs after approval by the administration. In the Intellectual Property Terms accepted at designer registration, the designer declares that the CAD software they use is licensed and that the work they deliver is original.
The design is reviewed by an expert dentist before it is presented to you
The review is carried out by an independent expert, separate from the designer. The expert:
- Compares the indication, material and number of teeth or jaws with the order.
- Sends the design back for revision, approves it conditionally or presents it to you.
- Records the decision with its justification.
The indication, material and tooth or jaw information verified by the expert appears on your order screen with the DentMesher approval stamp. Expert reviewer accounts are opened through an application and a review of professional qualifications.

The Dr. Mesh 3D report automatically measures the design file and presents a numerical preliminary report to the expert; the report carries a QR code that leads to the order page.

Uzman Ajan, the measurement assistant that prepares the report, does not move the job forward on its own; the decision to send back for revision, approve conditionally or present the design to you rests with the expert.

Revision by marking
You mark the area you want changed on the design and request a revision. The designer sees your request on the mark.
Rounds kept separate
When a revision is requested, a new round opens. The files, duration and reason of the rounds do not get mixed with one another.
Revisions you request after clinic approval draw on a defined revision allowance; the rule is the same for the clinic and the designer.
If you are connected to a laboratory that uses DENTMESHER HUB, you send the production order to it from the New Order screen and track its stages in the same list as your design orders. The production order is a separate record; design files are not transferred with it. Details for laboratories
Patient identity is masked by role
The patient name is not shown to the reviewing expert. If you choose to hide the patient name when opening the order on the web, the designer also sees the patient only by number, and the number is used instead of the name in file names. The mask also applies to PDF output; patient records remain in your clinic’s own area.
The mask is not applied to the content of uploaded files and order notes; do not write the patient name in scans, photos, documents or notes. The parties see each other by identity code. The Privacy and Patient Data Undertaking accepted at designer registration requires that patient data be used only for the job taken on and not be uploaded outside the platform.

How does the digital dental design service work?
When you open an order, you specify the indication, material, jaw, tooth numbers and deadline, and upload your scan. You choose one of the designers’ bids; if you do not choose, the job is assigned by the system. Before the design is presented to you, it is reviewed by an independent expert; you give the final approval.
Which files can I add to a design order?
You upload the STL, PLY, OBJ or DCM file exported by your intraoral scanner; 3D files in 3DS and STEP format are also accepted. In addition, you can add an exocad HTML scene, PDFs, images and ZIP or RAR archives.
Can I place an order if I don’t have CAD software or a licence?
Yes. The design is prepared by the designer, who works with CAD software. You review the result in 3D in a web browser or in the Android app, and approve it or request a revision; none of this requires CAD software.
Who checks the design?
An independent expert, separate from the designer, reviews the design before it is presented to you; the expert sends it back for revision, approves it conditionally or presents it to you, and records the decision with its justification. The final approval is yours; the clinical responsibility for applying the design to the patient also rests with you.
What if I don’t like the design?
You request a revision by marking the area you want changed on the 3D design; the job returns to the designer and a new round opens. The designer sees your request on the mark; each round’s files and reason are kept separately.
Does the designer or the expert see my patient’s identity?
The patient name is not shown to the expert who performs the review. If you do not want the designer to see it either, choose to hide the patient name when opening the order on the web; the designer then sees the patient only by number. The contents of the files you upload and of order notes are not masked; do not write the patient name in them.
How are the rights to the design file governed?
The rights to use the design output are governed by the Intellectual Property clause of the Clinic/Laboratory Service Agreement and by the Intellectual Property Terms. We recommend reading these two documents before placing an order.
Can I also place production orders through DentMesher?
Yes. If you are connected to a laboratory that uses DENTMESHER HUB, you send the production order to it from the New Order screen and track its stages in the same list as your design orders. You can also post the production job to the Job Pool; laboratories do not see the patient or clinic name while bidding. A production order is a separate record; design files are not transferred with it.
